As a Black female visual artist, I attempt to celebrate the beauty, elegance and resilience that I see in Black people. My most recent work strives to capture moments of peace, grace and tranquility, offering a counter-narrative to the burdens often placed upon us. My art is both a celebration and a reclamation, inviting viewers to witness the serenity and majesty of Blackness through my eyes, as I have seen it visiting kinfolk across the diaspora. Through studies of color, form, place and composition, I aim to honor the multifaceted essence of our lives and recreating moments in time where our greatest privilege is to simply be content in our skins.
